About the Speaker:

Dr Andrews began a career in general medicine after attending Boston College for a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology and the University of CT for medical school and residency. She worked as a primary care physician in a community health center for several years before returning to teaching at the University. Currently, Dr Andrews is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut with a three-pronged position: primary care provider, director of ambulatory education for our Internal Medicine Residency Program, and Associate Program Director. She has the opportunity to trial innovative changes to the practice of medicine through a CMMI Practice Transformation grant. Her focus has been on developing innovative curricula and clinical experiences to increase graduates entering primary care jobs as well as developing tools that can identify resident gaps in skills earlier for rapid intervention.
